FUE technique in Michigan

Hair Transplant Techniques

Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery offers a revolutionary procedure called FUE hair transplantation for its Michigan patients. The field of hair restoration has evolved from using the old strip technique with a large scar on the back of the patients scalp to the new Follicular Unit Extraction technique.

The follicular unit extraction technique removes small 1 mm grafts of tissue leaving no linear scar and shortening recovery time. Most sessions involve 800 to 2,000 grafts. This new technique has dramatically reduced the pain associated with the procedure. As we all know, men often are less tolerant of pain then female patients.

Patients can disguise their scabs with either a topical compound spread over the scalp or a hat within 48-72 hours. We have been very pleased with the follicular unit extraction technique.
