Skin Type Solutions is a technologically advanced regime, based on Dr. Leslie Baumann’s patent-pending Skin Typing System. This methodology pinpoints four major parameters, which are then mixed and matched, to create 16 unique skin types. To begin, a Skin Type Solutions quiz is taken, followed by an in-person consultation with a medical aesthetician. Finally, a personalized treatment plan is created to match the needs and desires that match the patient’s unique skin type. Over the last decade, more than 200,000 patients have found success with the Skin Type Solutions System.
Skin Type Solutions Four Sets of Parameters Include:
Determined by how much moisture and oil (sebum) is created by skin, establishing the overall hydration status of tissues.
Characterized by the amount of inflammation in skin. Sensitive tissue is more prone to acne, burning, stinging and rashes, while resistant tissue may require stronger ingredients.
Unrelated to ethnicity, pigmented skin is easily discolored with age spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation.
Winkle prone tissue needs additional products to fight the aging process; younger patients, such as teens, will have unique requirements for issues such as acne.

Determining the right Skin Type Solution will begin with a short, self-administered quiz. This questionnaire takes from three to five minutes, completed in-office, while waiting to see one of our medical aestheticians. The valuable information collected in the Skin Type Solutions quiz, plus an in-depth skin evaluation will help to determine the Baumann Skin Type. A personalized Skin Type Solutions treatment plan will then be created.

The Skin Type Solutions Regime
The Skin Type Solutions regime will utilize products selected from more than 12 different skincare brands. These products will be matched perfectly to the patient’s needs and aesthetic goals. Depending on the individual, a basic core regime is available, and for optimal results, a more extensive Skin Type Solutions treatment plan. A typical Skin Type Solution regime will include a cleanser, moisturizer, antioxidants, sunscreen, and/or anti-acne or facial serum.
The benefits from Skin Type Solutions will take several weeks to appear. While some patients may note an improvement in the skin’s quality, texture, or tone right away, on average, results will take about three months. As the old, dry skin sloughs away, fresh, healthier tissue will begin to show. Acne can also see dramatic improvements in just eight to twelve weeks.

For the fastest results, the recommended products should be used exactly as prescribed. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled in approximately eight weeks, to assess the progression and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. If the patient notes the recommended products stop working, the weather or seasons change, the region is adjusted (such as moving to another city), a major lifestyle change occurs (such as stopping smoking or menopause), Dr. Malhotra may request another Skin Type Solutions quiz be taken, so the treatment regime can be readjusted.

The Skin Type Solutions questionnaire helps to understand your unique skin function, health history, allergies, and susceptibility to infection or irritation. The results will also provide an important starting point for additional educational information, making the skincare treatment even more efficient.
Over the last ten years, the Skin Type Solutions quiz has been tested on over 200,000 people, all finding success in the system. For a personalized skincare plan, the team will review your answers and perform an in-person skin evaluation, which creates an accurate picture of the skin’s health. There is no concern over a ‘wrong answer’.
The amount of time necessary to see younger, smoother, more even-toned skin will depend on the exact patient and the level of correction required. While some people may note benefits almost immediately, on average, results will take about three months. Acne will take form 8-12 weeks to diminish.
Dr. Malhotra’s team of Medical Aestheticians will keep a close eye on your skin’s progress during the Skin Type Solutions treatment. Patients are scheduled to return to the office approximately every eight weeks to be re-evaluated, so that changes or adjustments can be made, if needed.
