I grew up near Lake Tahoe, where spending time outdoors and being surrounded by natural beauty was part of everyday life. I became an avid mountain biker, hiker, and skier in that environment. Living in such a scenic environment fostered an early appreciation for balance, harmony, and attention to detail — qualities that continue to influence both my perspective and my approach to aesthetic surgery today.
Tell us about your education and training.
Throughout my education, I was drawn to the unique intersection of science and artistry. While studying neuroscience and pursuing medical training, I remained involved in creative pursuits including sculpture, painting, and photography. These experiences deepened my appreciation for form, proportion, and detail — principles that translate naturally into the art and precision required in plastic surgery.
What type of surgical procedure do you specialize in?
My practice focuses on facial aesthetic and rejuvenation procedures designed to enhance facial harmony while maintaining natural-looking results. These include procedures such as facelift, neck lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), rhinoplasty, brow lift, and other facial rejuvenation treatments. I enjoy working closely with each patient to develop a personalized plan that reflects their goals while preserving the unique features that make them who they are. Other interests include: breast surgery, body contouring, and massive weight loss surgery.
What is your philosophy at your practice?
My philosophy is to approach every patient with careful listening, thoughtful planning, and meticulous attention to detail in order to achieve refined, natural-looking results. I believe aesthetic surgery should enhance facial harmony while preserving the unique characteristics that make each individual who they are. By developing a personalized treatment plan for each patient, my goal is to help people feel comfortable, confident, and like the best version of themselves.
Why did you become a plastic surgeon?
Plastic surgery offers a rare combination of science, artistry, and meticulous attention to detail. I was drawn to the field because it allows surgeons to restore form and function while also helping patients feel more confident in their appearance. The ability to make a meaningful impact on both how someone looks and how they feel about themselves is incredibly rewarding.
What do you like most about being a plastic surgeon?
What I enjoy most is the opportunity to help patients feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. Seeing the positive impact that thoughtful, carefully performed surgery can have on a person’s self-image and quality of life is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
What methods did you employ to accomplish your goal of becoming a successful doctor?
Becoming a physician requires dedication, perseverance, and a genuine commitment to helping others. Throughout my training, I relied on compassion, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic to continually grow and refine my skills. Those same values guide how I care for my patients today and remain central to my approach to medicine.
What do you like to do in your leisure time when you are not operating or seeing patients?
Outside of the operating room, I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, and exploring new places with my wife. I also enjoy board games and other activities that bring friends and family together, as they create a great opportunity to relax, share laughs, and connect with the people around me. Whether it’s traveling, hiking, or enjoying a relaxed evening with loved ones, these moments help me maintain balance and return to my practice focused, energized, and grateful for the work that I do.
What epiphany did you experience while studying to become a surgeon that led you to choose aesthetic surgery?
During my training, I realized that aesthetic surgery uniquely combines technical precision with artistic judgment. I was drawn to the idea that subtle, thoughtful changes could enhance facial harmony while preserving the individuality of each patient. That moment helped solidify my decision to focus on aesthetic surgery, where careful attention to detail and an artistic perspective can make a meaningful impact on how patients feel about themselves.
What setbacks or obstacles did you encounter while pursuing your goals?
Like most physicians, the path to becoming a surgeon required perseverance through long hours, demanding training, and constant self-improvement. Those experiences taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of maintaining perspective during challenging moments. My strong social support, passion about patient care, and drive to help others achieve their goals has bolstered me through those challenging times. Ultimately, those obstacles helped shape the work ethic and attention to detail that guide my practice today.
What three words best describe you?
Thoughtful, compassionate, and detail-oriented.
These qualities influence how I approach both surgery and patient care, ensuring that every individual receives careful attention and a personalized treatment plan.
How did your journey to be a plastic surgeon change you internally?
The journey to becoming a plastic surgeon taught me patience, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the responsibility that comes with caring for others. Training required constant growth — not only in technical skill, but in judgment, humility, and the ability to truly listen. Over time, I developed a greater awareness of how meaningful even subtle changes can be, both physically and emotionally. That perspective continues to shape how I approach each patient interaction — with thoughtfulness, respect, and a genuine commitment to helping people feel more confident in themselves.
Why have you chosen to specialize in facial plastic surgery?
I was drawn to facial plastic surgery because of its unique balance of precision, artistry, and impact. The face is central to identity and expression. Even small, thoughtful changes can enhance overall harmony while preserving what makes someone look like themselves. I find it especially rewarding to work in an area where attention to detail and an artistic perspective are so important. Where the goal is not to change a person’s appearance, but to refine and enhance it in a natural, individualized way.
What are you known for as a plastic surgeon?
I strive to be known for a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach and for achieving refined, natural-looking results. I take the time to understand each patient’s goals and develop a personalized plan that emphasizes facial harmony rather than dramatic change. My goal is for patients to look refreshed and confident, while still looking like themselves — never overdone. Just as importantly, I want patients to feel comfortable, heard, and confident in their care throughout the entire process.
